I succumbed to clicking this clickbait article and succumbed to looking at the comments fully believing they were going to be terrible and instead I saw what lawful good is

It was a dodo article which is a shitty website but almost all of the other comments on this story were positive too. There was only one overtly nasty one.

Anyway my personal suspicion is that the owner wasn’t the culprit. Sometimes someone gets an exotic pet in a household where somebody else doesn’t like it. It wouldn’t be by far the first time I heard of someone harming or getting rid of someone else’s tarantula behind their back.

Having a phobia of an animal does not, under any circumstances, excuse taking the effort to type out how you would love to burn it to death or smash it, especially not when the discussion is already about having them as pets and you know you’re saying it among people who love them.

Actually blocked for trying to explain this patiently to one of the “It was a JOKE” types.

Permission to get deep for a second?

The reason lifting weights helps treat depression is because you don’t just work out your muscles. You also exercise the ability to dispense motivation. Build up your power to motivate yourself, you’ll find yourself doing little things that need to be done. It’s not perfect, and it can be a really slow start, but it really does help.

It’s a lot easier to lift a dumbbell a few times than it is to clean your room, but if you push yourself to lift it you will find it easier to push yourself to organize your stuff or do the dishes.

Also you can punch harder.

learning the longsword turned me from a depressed atheist to a god-fearing maniac with a lust for crack and driving 110mph everywhere

You’re the next smash fighter

#TheHomelessPeriod exposes the unique menstruation problem homeless women face

The new campaign shines a light on homeless women who need assistance caring for their menstrual cycles. According to the Guardian, approximately 26% of people in the U.K. who receive “homelessness services” are female. But in most shelters, “sanitary ware or any kind of period ephemera is scarce,” Vice reported earlier this year. Three women have a plan to fix that.

Guys, please sign the petition! https://www.change.org/p/help-the-homeless-on-their-period-thehomelessperiod

My school had a fundraiser for this. Man you never think of these things

Thank you all for sharing this, because it reminded me that I’ve been meaning to donate some pads/tampons to a local shelter/food pantry

I literally wasn’t till I saw this post for the first time a long time ago that I even realized “holy shit. Homeless woman still get their period”. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that nature doesn’t give a fuck if you have access to pads or pain meds. It’ll happen no matter what. Which made me even more pissed about the fact that they’re stupid expensive. Thats definitely where a good portion of my tax returns are going to. Buying pads in bulk and donating them.

People are so fucking brainwashed by wealthy anticommunists they think basic social democracy is a road to communism. Social democracy is like, the norm in a ton of countries. It’s literally just capitalism with a larger welfare state and tighter regulations. In fact, some social democratic countries are ranked high in “economic freedom” (defined by the Heritage Foundation) because guess what, they’re still capitalist.

We are literally living in a world with a collapsing ecosystem and increasing world hunger as a result and people are scared of getting rid of the system that lead us down this road. Crazy
